The Lodge suffered a tremendous loss of lodge member Pam Pizzuti McMillan, who passed away on November 29, 2008. Pam was a loyal servant to her family, church, community and Lodge 2808-Columbia. She organized and maintained lodge membership and developed a system for efficient, accurate and timely collection of membership data to comply with national OSIA guidelines. In 2008, Pam extended her time and talents to the lodge even further serving as Treasurer. Her auditing background facilitated the establishment of lodge protocol and procedures for the collection and deposit of lodge funds. Working together with the lodge finance officers, she helped to establish a system for greater accountability of lodge funds. The lodge will remember Pam for her dedication and loyalty to our lodge but, perhaps, most remembered for her faithful friendship, beautiful smile and wonderful sense of humor.

The lodge extends heartfelt sympathy to spouse Carl McMillan (lodge guard) and family; and to the Pizzuti families.

In action taken by the lodge membership on February 15, 2009, the Sons of Italy Lodge 2808-Columbia named its Scholarship Fund in memory of Pam. The Scholarship shall be known as the Sons of Italy’s Pam Pizzuti McMillan Scholarship Fund.
